Welcome to Dougherty Continuing Education
The forestry sector is a fascinating and engaging one, offering seemingly endless opportunities for learning, application, and relationships across multiple specialites. And all of these aspects are needed to be successful. Over the last several decades, we have gotten up early each day and ran hard in pursuit of excellence in this sector, and we've learned a lot and engaged with many advanced forestry professionals. We love to share these gained insights.
Experiences gained include those from very active, hands-on forest management of pine and hardwood systems, both naturally and artificially regenerated, across the Southeastern US states, with a focus on sector-topping yields; from active research surrounding both silviculture and genetics, both proprietary and collaborative; from active capital investment, in individual tracts of land and in multiple business ownerships; to tree breeding efforts (loblolly pine, longleaf pine, hardwoods); to forestry advocacy and education, and beyond.
While many spend a career in silos of work effort or focus, we have been blessed to be able to work across many areas of forestry. We have also seen many forest business models, empowering understanding of successful systems, as well as traps for potential fall-down. The integrated experience allows for deeper insight into the overall forest operation from planning, to site analysis, to regime building, genetic allocation, mid-rotation management, and final harvest. In these foresty CE courses, we bring these experiences and insight to our customers.
We are developing multiple advanced courses around these integrated business experiences.
